In today’s Christmas stockings update we’re looking at two quite different designs, Angels and Cats and Dogs stockings. Each of these designs is in our larger size, so would sit well alongside Fairytale, Silent Night, Owls, Toy Box and Christmas Alphabet.

Of all of our Christmas stocking tapestry designs, Angels has the largest areas of plain colour, so this stocking is a good choice if you don’t like changing your wool colour too often.

There are big areas of single colour in the sky and around the robin. If you enjoy stitching in front of the TV in the evenings, you can save these areas for when you want to stitch but don’t want to have concentrate on too much detail.

From Angels, on to Gabriel but a Cats and Dogs Gabriel! Cats and Dogs is a wonderful design to stitch for an animal lover, or for your pets.

There’s so much going on in Cats and Dogs. A cat and a dog patiently wait to open their presents by the Christmas tree, and in other areas of the design, a canine Father Christmas prepares to make his way down the chimney and a Westie pulls along a cart laden with gifts. Two dogs and a cat also dress up as a snowman, a reindeer and a fairy godmother.

One really enjoyable aspect of our Cats and Dogs stocking is the opportunities the design presents for you to incorporate your own pets into the design, as you can see below with Ted’s Christmas stocking, alongside Olivia’s.

Ted and Olivia’s stockings also demonstrate the differences between our two red velvets. Olivia’s stocking is made up using bright red velvet with red dotty lining, and for Ted’s we used raspberry red velvet.

We look forward to seeing the Christmas stockings that you completed in 2017, or are working on now. And remember that it’s never too early to start stitching for next Christmas!
