There’s something magical about robins! These little birds are a cheery sight all year round in our gardens, especially at Christmas. We are delighted to present two festive robin tapestry kits, Jingle Bell Robins and Starry Sky Robin.
These adorable designs are lovely to stitch as an extra festive focal point for your home, to make for a friend or relative, or perhaps you’ll sneak a robin tapestry kit into a Christmas stocking this year!
You’ll find the robins in with our beginner tapestry kits category on Jolly Red’s website as they are small projects. While Jingle Bell Robins and Starry Sky Robin are indeed suitable for beginners (anyone from age 7 upwards), they are also fabulous quick projects for more experienced stitchers.
What’s in a kit? In our small tapestry kits we include a colour printed canvas, a size 18 tapestry needle with threader, an alphabet, and stitch instructions. The kits come with a red rope-handled bag with a colour illustration on the front. We don’t include a symbols reference chart with the beginner tapestry kits because the squares can be counted from the illustration on the bag.
Generous size of canvas and whole skeins of wool The printed design area of our beginner tapestry kits is 4″ x 4″ and there is an additional 3″ all round of blank canvas so that you can add a message or a name to your design. We include whole 10 metre skeins of Anchor tapestry wool in our kits, not cut lengths.
I stitched Starry Sky Robin and Jingle Bell Robins and had loads of wool left over with each. For Starry Sky Robin you will probably use almost all of the blue wool but you’ll have masses of other colours to use in your border if you want to, or you could save the remaining wool to use up on another project, or make some Christmas pompoms while you’re in a festive mood!
