Brighter Days Daffodils

Brighter Days Daffodils is a tapestry kit which we created in 2022 to help to raise funds for the people of Ukraine. We donate £10 from the sale of each Brighter Days Daffodils kit (including wool), and £5 from canvas only sales to the Disasters Emergency Committee. To date we have donated £3,300 to the DEC.
January 2026 update The DEC’s appeal for Ukraine has now finished, and the funds collected have been spent. We will make further donations from the sales of Brighter Days Daffodils to the DEC’s general appeals.
Stock of kits We have run out of Brighter Days Daffodils kits with the lighter blue wool (on the left of our picture showingthe packaging), but have a limited number of Brighter Days kits with the brighter blue (8644 Anchor) on the right.
Brighter Days Daffodils tapestry kit is a tapestry that we created to raise funds for the people of Ukraine. In the design, we have echoed the colours of the Ukrainian flag, filling the lower half of the design with yellow daffodils and the upper half with a bright blue sky.*
For us here in the UK, the sight of the first daffodils springing up by the roadside and in clumps in our gardens are such a positive sight after the grey days of winter. Together with the blue spring sky, they make us think of brighter days ahead, which is what we all wish for the people of Ukraine.
Brighter Days Daffodils is a versatile design that can be folded in half and made into a specs case. It can also be used as the centre of a larger cushion or used as a panel in a tapestry bag. An alphabet and numbers chart is included in the design so you can add a name and/or message and dates in the sky.
*Background blue: we designed Brighter Days Daffodils with a lovely turquoisey blue sky. If you would prefer a more bluey blue (cornflower blue) please comment in the notes when you order and we will swap it for you.

Choosing a Tapestry Frame
A tapestry frame is not essential but using one will help to prevent your work going out of shape. It also makes it easy to resume stitching the next day or after a break. We stock a good range of British made no-sew tapestry clip frames which only take a few minutes to assemble. The canvas is attached by sturdy clips, giving you the flexibility to switch between projects if you need to.
For Brighter Days Daffodils, we recommend a CF189 frame or choose a CF219 or CF249 frame if you might stitch something larger in the future. A 12" frame will be a bit of a squeeze.
