A warm welcome to Jolly Red! Our tapestry kits are highly regarded for their attention to detail and use of very high quality materials.

I’m Kelly, founder of Jolly Red. I am a stitcher with a background in tapestry weaving. I design with you, a fellow stitcher, in mind.

I create designs that are fun to stitch, with clear colours and very accurate canvas printing. We are generous with our wool and include plenty for tent stitch, which is our recommended stitch.

We work closely with our suppliers to maintain the excellent standards for which we have become known since we started business in 1993. Our canvases are printed in the UK, and we use British-made Appletons tapestry wool for the vast majority of our kits.

Jolly Red – a brief history  Jolly Red was set up in 1993 by Kelly Fletcher, shortly after graduating from the Royal College of Art in London.

Jolly Red‘s first range of tapestry kits was a collection of six designs. These modern and colourful designs set the feel for Jolly Red’s signature vibrant and fuss-free style. Thirty years on, Jolly Red’s tapestry kits retain their initial naive quality and relaxed, friendly feel.

Jolly Red’s range of designs has grown considerably and now includes tapestry kits for cushions, birth samplers, specs cases, as well as kits for beginners.

Jolly Red’s famous range of Christmas stockings tapestry kits enjoyed wide exposure on BBC One’s Celebrity Race Across the World when Harry Judd from McFly and his mum, Emma, stitched two Christmas stockings as they went on their adventures from Marrakesh to Norway.
