Rainbow Hearts beginner tapestry kit, a delightful mini needlepoint patchwork of hearts in reds, whites and blues. Once stitched, Rainbow Hearts can be used as the centre panel in a cushion or book bag. Kit includes colour printed canvas, whole skeins of Anchor tapestry wool, needle and threader and clear instructions.
Rainbow Heart is the perfect starter tapestry for a young child, and the simple striped background and pink heart will help to build up confidence as they stitch. Once the design is finished, there will be ample spare wool to extend and personalise the border with patterns, stripes and/or a name.
Your finished tapestry can be made into the centre of a larger cushion, framed as a picture or made into a panel of a book bag.
As a rough age guide, Rainbow Heart is suitable for children age 7+.
Each Rainbow Heart tapestry kit comes in a red rope-handled bag with colour illustration and includes:
- Colour printed canvas (10hpi)
- Eight whole skeins of Anchor tapestry wool
- Reference chart with additional alphabet chart, and instructions
- John James tapestry needle
- Needle threader
- Clear instructions for half cross stitch
Choosing a Tapestry Frame
A tapestry frame is not essential, but is a good option for beginners as it leaves both hands free for stitching.
For Rainbow Heart, we recommend a CF129 tapestry frame but choose one of the larger frames with code ending in '9' if you think you will stitch larger projects in the future.
Printed canvas area: 4" x 4" (10cm x 10cm), canvas size 10" x 10" (25cm x 25cm)

Choosing a Frame
A tapestry frame is not essential, but is a good idea for beginners as it leaves both hands free for stitching. We stock a good range of British made no-sew tapestry clip frames which only take a few minutes to assemble. As the canvas is attached by clips, the frames allow you to switch between projects if necessary.
For Rainbow Heart, we recommend a CF129 frame but choose one of the larger frames with code ending in ‘9’ if you think you will stitch larger projects in the future.
