Rainbow Heart beginner tapestry kit is a delightful mini needlepoint patchwork of hearts in rainbow colours. Once stitched, Rainbow Heart can be used as the centre panel in a cushion or book bag.
The complete tapestry kit includes colour printed canvas, whole skeins of Anchor tapestry wool, a needle and threader and clear instructions. Choose the Canvas Only option if you have a lot of your own wool to use up.

Which size of tapestry frame is best for a beginner? A 12″ wide clip frames – CF129 – is a good size for young beginners. If you wish to progress to larger designs in the future, choose one of the wider frames with code ending in ‘9’ – CF189 is 18” wide, CF219 is 21” wide and CF249 is 24” wide.
Rainbow Heart is the perfect starter tapestry for a young child, and the simple striped background and pink heart will help to build up confidence as he or she stitches. Once stitched, Rainbow Heart tapestry can be made into the centre of a larger cushion or bag, framed as a picture or made into a panel of a book bag.
As a rough age guide, Rainbow Heart is suitable for children age 7+.

Choosing a Tapestry Frame
A tapestry frame is not essential but using one will help to prevent work going out of shape as well as making it easy to resume stitching the next day or after a break. Children may find it easier to focus on the tapestry if they aren't also having to physically hold on to the canvas as they stitch.
We stock a good range of British made no-sew tapestry clip frames which are easy to assemble. The canvas is attached by sturdy clips, so the canvas doesn't have to be sewn on to the frame.
Which size of frame is best for a beginner? For Rainbow Heart starter kit a 12" wide CF129 frame is a good size. If you may want to stitch a larger design in the future, choose one of the wider frames with code ending in '9' and place your canvas in the centre of the frame when you stitch it.

Choosing a Frame
A tapestry frame is not essential, but is a good idea for beginners as it leaves both hands free for stitching. We stock a good range of British made no-sew tapestry clip frames which only take a few minutes to assemble. As the canvas is attached by clips, the frames allow you to switch between projects if necessary.
For Rainbow Heart, we recommend a CF129 frame but choose one of the larger frames with code ending in ‘9’ if you think you will stitch larger projects in the future.
