Pirate
£9.25 – £18.50
Ahoy there! Pirate tapestry kit is a wonderful tapestry for a young child and is a very good first project. Our little pirate has his trusty parrot on his shoulder. As a rough age guide, Pirate is suitable for children age 7+.
Once stitched, you can frame Pirate as a picture, make it into the centre of a larger cushion, or use it as a panel for a favourite bedtime book bag.
Which size of frame is best for a beginner? For Pirate starter kit a 12″ wide CF129 frame is a good size. If you may want to stitch a larger design in the future, choose one of the wider frames with code ending in ‘9’.

Choosing a Tapestry Frame
A tapestry frame is not essential but using one will help to prevent work going out of shape as well as making it easy to resume stitching the next day or after a break. Children may find it easier to focus on the tapestry if they aren't also having to physically hold on to the canvas as they stitch.
We stock a good range of British made no-sew tapestry clip frames which are easy to assemble. The canvas is attached by sturdy clips, so the canvas doesn't have to be sewn on to the frame.

Choosing a Frame
A tapestry frame is not essential, but is particularly useful for beginners as it leaves both hands free for stitching. We stock a good range of British made no-sew tapestry clip frames which only take a few minutes to assemble. As the canvas is attached by clips, the frames allow you to switch between projects if necessary.
For Pirate, we recommend a CF129 frame but choose one of the larger frames with code ending in ‘9’ if you think you will stitch larger projects in the future.
