Pirate

£8.75£17.50

Pirate beginner tapestry kit to stitch for a child, or for a child age 7+ to stitch. A great starter kit or quick project for a more experienced stitcher. This kit contains whole 10m skeins of Anchor tapestry wool.

Clear

Ahoy there! An intrepid pirate with his trusty parrot on his shoulder. Pirate is a great starter tapestry kit for a young child. Once the design is stitched, there will be plenty of spare wool so that you can extend it and personalise the border with patterns, stripes and/or a name.

Once stitched frame your Pirate as a picture, make it into the centre of a larger cushion, or use it as a panel for a favourite bedtime book bag.

As a rough age guide, Pirate is suitable for children age 7+.

Kit Contents

Each Pirate tapestry kit comes in a red rope-handled bag with colour illustration and includes:

  • Colour printed canvas (10hpi)
  • Eight whole skeins of Anchor tapestry wool
  • Reference chart with additional alphabet chart, and instructions
  • John James tapestry needle
  • Needle threader
  • Clear instructions for half cross stitch

Choosing  a Tapestry Frame

A tapestry frame is not essential, but is a good idea for beginners as it leaves both hands free for stitching.

For Pirate, we recommend a CF129 tapestry frame if small hands will be stitching. Choose one of the larger frames with code ending in '9' if you think you or your young stitcher will go on to larger projects in the future.

Design Size

Printed canvas area: 4" x 4" (10cm x 10cm), canvas size 10" x 10" (25cm x 25cm)

Choosing a Frame

A tapestry frame is not essential, but is particularly useful for beginners as it leaves both hands free for stitching. We stock a good range of British made no-sew tapestry clip frames which only take a few minutes to assemble. As the canvas is attached by clips, the frames allow you to switch between projects if necessary.

For Pirate, we recommend a CF129 frame but choose one of the larger frames with code ending in ‘9’ if you think you will stitch larger projects in the future.
