Our most economical tapestry frames come in three sizes - 12", 18" and 24". The 12" ones are perfect for the  starter kits and for Jennnifer Pudney's Postcard designs. For kits larger than those, choose either the 18" or the 24", depending on what stitching you're likely to do in the future...

...for example: if you want to stitch Pop Art Puppies (and who wouldn't?!), but after that intend to work on larger cushions such as the Old English Cockerel, and the occasional birth sampler for new family members, then you would be wise to get a 24" frame. There's plenty of canvas around the design for a design the size of the Puppies to be added easily to the larger frame.

Using a frame is a matter of personal preference, but we like the way that a frame enables you to pick up your work easily the next time that you go back to it, and it also allows you to work with one hand on the top of the canvas and the other below it, which makes you quicker.

TOP TIP: If you stitch in front of the TV, prop your frame against the TV cabinet so it's facing you the next time you switch on. You'll be guaranteed to do a bit more stitching!
